All Spanish programs are Ms. Temo’s specialty (for Light Classics, Pops, and Children Concert Series), and make for a highly unique program, which feature her as flamenco/classical guitarist, and/or singer, and at times, conductor.  Ms. Temo has appeared with the Baltimore Symphony (with whom she has appeared in more than 16 concerts for their Youth Series), and orchestras such as the Calgary, Edmonton, Florida, Alexandria, Hilton Head, Kennett, B-W, Annapolis Orchestra, and Ocean City Pops Symphonies.

*Loris Chobanian’s “Concierto del Fuego” (Concerto of Fire), a flamenco & classical guitar concerto written for Marija Temo.

*Loris Chobanian’s “Tango Fantasy, a 1 mov. work that combines the characteristic qualities of both the Argentinean Tango and the Flamenco Tango of Andalusia, written for Marija Temo.

Lecuona’s “Malaguena- An arrangement by Temo for orchestra, flamenco guitar, voice, and dance as a 1 movement flamenco/classical guitar concerto, with an improvised slow singing section, and ends with a flamenco dance finale.

Man of La Mancha, Temo, featured flamenco guitarist and vocalist.

Manuel de Falla’s “El Amor Brujo contains 3 numbers for voice and orchestra. Ms. Temo has performed “El Amor Brujo” numerous times as a featured flamenco vocalist and former dancer with orchestras, and combined flamenco vocalist and guitarist with Dance Companies, such as the Peridance Contemporary Dance Co., and flamenco dancers.

de Falla’s “Canciones Populares, which Temo performed and arranged certain movements for orchestra, flamenco guitar, and voice.

Multi -Talented Marija, a 50 minute Spanish program Ms. Temo devised for a Children’s Series premiered for the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, showcasing all her talents, including conducting, narrating, and elaborate audience participation.

Repertoire performed by M. Temo:

Percussionist and M. Temo demonstrate flamenco hand clap rhythms. Audience participates learning palmas (hand claps of flamenco rhythms) and jaleo (outbursts of Spanish words of encouragement).
