Flamenco Quartet is a project dedicated to exploring new exponents of flamenco. Led by an open minded spirit the ensemble seeks to engage with contemporary culture through vibrant performances that honor traditional flamenco and their shared passion for music and dance discovery. Their roster boasts remarkably diverse talents, including composers, arrangers, improvisers and choreographers who bring a range of cultural influences to the group, from Gypsy jazz to klezmer to flamenco and classical Arabic and Spanish.

The group consists of nationally and internationally renowned artists, including dancer Wendy Clinard, violinist Steve Gibons, guitarist Marija Temo, and different guest cajon players such as Jose Moreno and Javier Suame Mazzei

Fee: $45 includes studio fee
Participants are recommended to bring paper and pens as well their dance shoes, guitars, and capos. Audio recording allowed. Any video recording or internet posting must have Artist’s approval.

Marija Temo in premier performance in Ensemble Espanol’s 40th American Spanish Dance & Music Festival, Chicago, IL, 6/8, 2016

Temo will be a guest soloist and guitar and singer accompanist for Ensemble Espanol’s 40th American Spanish Dance and Music Festival in Chicago, IL this coming week on Wed., June 8, 2016.  “I am very excited to be a part of this festival and working with Ensemble Espanol as well the other guest artists.  I have known about Libby Fleming and Ensemble Espanol for many years and worked with one of their principal dancers in the past, Juan Ramon.  See the ever so nice write up Ensemble Espanol had posted on their facebook page below.”

Note: Temo will also be accompanying Ensemble Espanol’s Festival Flamenco Master Classes taught by guest artists:  Paloma Gomez, Carlos Rodriguez, Angel Rojas, Carmela Greco,  6/20-25/2016.  Which classes are still to be determined.
