Just returned from NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) performing for GE Capital and Taylor Guitars!
What a suprise, the GE Capital/Taylor Guitar commercial won an award for top commercial in the industry! It was great receiving the award with Bob Taylor and Deb Barker. Read More »
Getting ready to go Louisville, KY to perform with the local flamenco artists, teach my Flamenco Communication workshop, and give an intensive coaching workshop to Louisville flamenco artists. Really looking forward to it! See Calendar page for more info.
Here is a quote from Deb Barker, GE Executive. “There’s been a lot of curiosity about me and my body double in the GE Capital/Taylor commercial. Marija Temo is phenomenal Flamenco player, and she was delighted to help us by capturing your imagination in that awesome riff (same technology as Avatar used to transpose my head on her body). Marija and I are hearing the commercial has inspired people to play – What’s better than that? Please keep supporting the Music industry, they need you – Peace!”
In Paraguay, I had one of the best artistic and personal experiences performing in Paraguay for the International Guitar Festival in Asuncion. See my facebook for photos.
Crossing into the Country World was a blast! Marija played “Toes in the Water” (Zac Brown’s Grammy award winning number). She presented an intro, and created a flamenco/classical adaptation to the piece. It came off great and people were asking Marija if she was going to make a country album;-)
American Song Writer Magazine covered the event, and mentioned “Brown proved the consummate master of ceremonies during the four-plus- hour affair, bringing out a cast of talent, including guitarist Marija Temo, Breaking Southern Ground artists Sonia Leigh, Nic Cowan and Levi Lowrey, Sarah Dugas of the Duhks and Atlanta singer-songwriter Shawn Mullins.“
