Join us for an afternoon of student and professional dance and music as we celebrate and share our dedication to the art of flamenco. Get ready to be moved by live music accompaniment by guest flamenco greats.

Clinard Dance will feature their Flamenco Quartet Project in the second half of the program. This project is dedicated to exploring new exponents of flamenco. Led by an open minded spirit the ensemble seeks to engage with contemporary culture through vibrant performances that honor traditional flamenco and their shared passion for music and dance discovery.Their roster boasts remarkably diverse talents, including composers, arrangers, improvisers and choreographers who bring a range of cultural influences to the group, from Gypsy jazz to klezmer to flamenco and classical Arabic and Spanish.

The group consists of nationally and internationally renowned artists, including dancer, Wendy Clinard, violinist Steve Gibons, guitarist Marija Temo, and percussionist, Javier Suame Mazze.

Flamenco Quartet is a project dedicated to exploring new exponents of flamenco. July 14-16, 2017

with guest contemporary flamenco dancer, Wendy Clinard

for Guitarists, Singers, and Dancers of all levels in interactive:
Coaching sessions
Workshops
Flamenco Discussions
Performance of Temo Students flying in from IL, IA, KY, GA, VA, and OH
Juerga (Flamenco Party)

Open to observers, flamenco enthusiasts, and all levels in flamenco guitar, song, and dance (including rank beginners).

Temo students from IL, IA, KY, GA, VA, and OH will be flying in for the intensive and presenting a performance as well partying flamenco style in Juerga directly after the performance for all audience members, flamenco aficionados, performers, and musicians, including artist’s Marija Temo and Wendy Clinard to join in on the fun.​

Observe and/or try out your skills working with different guitarists, singers, and dancers, and receive constructive coaching from Marija Temo and Wendy Clinard as well as have the opportunity to accompany Wendy Clinard in palmas, guitar, and song.  The choice is yours on what you would like to participate in and/or observe.

Structure, improvisation, interpretation of song, dance, and guitar when interacting with one another, and palmas accompaniment are some of the aspects to be covered.  An opportunity to  meet other flamencos, eat, have flamenco discussions by Lake Michigan, and party flamenco together.

Marija Temo presents Flamenco Amazement to Starms Early Childhood Center, Milwaukee, WI, 3/20/17

Marija Temo, WI Conservatory Faculty, presents her Flamenco Amazement program of Guitar, Song, and Dance to Starms Early Childhood Center.

The entire school will attend, around 200 children ages 3-5 years old.

Thank you Amanda Smith, Director, Conservatory Connections and Karina Kroll from Starms Early Childhood Center for wanting me to share flamenco with these children.
