In this performance chapter of the Vanishing Worlds Project we look at intersections in the cultural trajectories of Jews, Muslims and Roma peoples in North Africa, Spain, and Eastern Europe, through our own eyes- the lens of 21st century musicians who perform these apparently disparate genres.

*Marija Temo’ s Flamenco Communication Workshop will explain the structure of the Tangos and Solea forms including the singing structure, decipher the dance movements, and explain the guitar chords and rhythmic accompaniment taught in the dance and guitar workshops to better understand the flamenco interactive and communication process.

Flamenco Quartet Project
Flamenco Quartet is a project dedicated to exploring new exponents of flamenco. Led by an open minded spirit the ensemble seeks to engage with contemporary culture through vibrant performances that honor traditional flamenco and their shared passion for music and dance discovery. Their roster boasts remarkably diverse talents, including composers, arrangers, improvisers and choreographers who bring a range of cultural influences to the group, from Gypsy jazz to klezmer to flamenco and classical Arabic and Spanish.
