Flamenco Structure and Advanced Beginner Dance sessions with Marija Temo (for Adults)

Fee: Guitarists & Singers to observe or try out skills: $10
No instruction specific to singers and guitarists will be provided for this class. If there is interest, I am more than happy to begin a guitar accompaniment and singing class.

Deadline for registration and payment is Wed before each Sunday. No refunds will occur if you do not attend class; however, if not enough are registered for class, class will be canceled and your payment will be refunded.
- Flamenco Structure Class description:
This class will be an in depth study, breakdown and understanding on flamenco forms. Topics covered will be rhythms and common variations, the order of events that occur in dance (singing verses, footwork sections, signals, terminology used, options in structure); song structure (what to listen for & how to follow singing, what to do during the singing, how the singing interacts with dance and guitar); guitar structure and accompaniment (what to listen for in guitar accompaniment, what chords are used in dance and song accompaniment, guitar melodies, and how to accompany dance and song.) Purpose of class is to observe and develop your knowledge and ear training skills. Note taking is recommended. Live demonstration in dance, guitar, and singing by Marija Temo. Recordings will be used as well.
- Advanced Beginner Flamenco Dance Classes
For the dancer who is familiar with basic flamenco dance steps and movements. This class will focus on flamenco dance techniques (steps, marking, footwork, arm movements) rhythms, application to dance and song structure. All classes at times will have live guitar and singing accompaniment by Marija Temo.
Notes:
Liability waiver will need to be signed not holding Marija Temo or Danceworks liable for any personal injury or personal property damage that may occur for the time you enter, during the class, and leave the premises. Also, street shoes need to be left in the lobby or on the studio rug right inside of the door, as to not track salt and wet shoes onto the dance floor.

From what I have heard, Sansha runs small (like one shoe size smaller than street shoe). Be sure to check sizing and talk to Customer Service before purchasing. Suede are a popular buy for those that have wider feet. Leather for those that have narrow feet. https://www.nydancestore.com/
