The Flamenco Completo Workshop in Atlanta begins September 16 with a special first time intro class for students with no experience. Followed by Levels 1 and 2, both taking place on September 17 and 18.

As another friend takes off to Spain for a flamenco holiday, your happiness is perhaps tempered with the knowledge that you may not be able to participate in a similar opportunity any time soon. Such a trip could be personally prohibitive for any number of reasons: time, finances, or perhaps feeling you are just not good enough yet. But what if Spain were to come to you? A world music concert entitled, “Global Rhythms Family Weekend” will occur at Miami University, Sept. 23 & 24, 2011. The performances will showcase all different styles of dance, music, vocals, and costumes. Around 300 artists will be participating.
Marija Temo with flamenco dancer, Ulrika Frank, will perform a number fusing Flamenco and Brazilian music with duo, Humberto and Madeline Sales, and perform a number which will be a collaboration and improvisation of the 4 artists with Grammy award winning percussionists. It will be loads of fun!
It was a wonderful and beautiful evening performing in Boyce, VA (with Manolo Leiva, flamenco singer, and Ulrika Frank and Pamela de Campo, flamenco dancers). The food was absolutely fabulous and couldn’t have been more authentic when it comes to Spanish cuisine. Enough funds were raised to support 2 very poor families for a year.
