Experience the heart and soul of flamenco in this 90-minute juerga (flamenco fiesta) style workshop, led by internationally acclaimed flamenco artist Marija Temo. This session offers a rare opportunity to dive deep into the art of Bulerías, focusing on the essential communication and interplay between musicians and dancers in an authentic fiesta setting.
Marija will guide participants through the dynamic relationship between cante (singing), toque (guitar playing), baile (dancing), and palmas (rhythmic hand clapping). You’ll explore how these elements come together to create the magic of a flamenco fiesta, with an emphasis on understanding the unspoken cues and intuitive exchanges that make Bulerías such a powerful and improvisational form.
Whether you’re a dancer looking to connect with live musicians, a guitarist seeking to accompany dancers with confidence, or simply a flamenco lover curious about the magic of a juerga, this workshop is for you. No matter your skill level, you’ll leave with a deeper understanding of flamenco’s communal spirit and the tools to participate with greater fluency in any fiesta setting.

Flamenco Communication Biography
Marija’s Communication Course was offered for 10 years consecutively at the University of New Mexico International Flamenco Festival, at the Toronto International Flamenco Festival, and reviewed in magazines such as Flamenco USA, Flamenco International (London, England), and Dance Magazine. Marija’s method continues to be in demand in the US and abroad.
