Temo Flamenco Communication Intensive
Cleveland Hts, OH, Aug. 21-23, 2025 (Thurs-Sat)

For all levels in dance, guitar, and singing, learning together to understand the connections between music and dance.

This year’s flamenco communication intensive will be hosted in Cleveland Hts., Ohio, featuring two guest flamenco dance artists of completely different styles, Alice Blumenfeld and La Romera, along with Marija Temo, dance coach and flamenco guitarist and singer.

What makes this intensive unique is that 3 disciplines are learning together with focus on topics important to the palo (form) and some topics not normally explained or analyzed but learned after years of experience. Enjoy meeting & working with others & experiencing flamenco in its traditional form as done in Spain but occurring in Cleveland Hts, OH.

I asked each teacher what they feel their strength is in teaching.

Alice Blumefeld -”I’m best at teaching technique and composition.”

La Romera – “I can show people how to bring out the essence and help you own the compás so that it doesn’t own you.

Marija Temo- “I am able to pin point specifics to improve communication in the dancer, guitarist, and singer, as well as demonstrate and explain how to reach new levels of interaction (melodically and rhythmically) during improvisation.

Observe the difference between Llamadas, Double Llamadas, and Desplantes (dance calls) in Tientos will be demonstrated and where they are placed in the structure as they convey different meanings.
