is a project dedicated to exploring new exponents of flamenco. Led by an open minded spirit the ensemble seeks to engage with contemporary culture through vibrant performances that honor traditional flamenco and their shared passion for music and dance discovery. Their roster boasts remarkably diverse talents, including composers, arrangers, improvisers and choreographers who bring a range of cultural influences to the group, from Gypsy jazz to klezmer to flamenco and classical Arabic and Spanish.
The group consists of nationally and internationally renowned artists, including dancer Wendy Clinard, violinist Steve Gibons, guitarist Marija Temo, and guest dancer/percussionist/singer Jose Moreno.

Clinard Dance will share excerpts from their “Flamenco Quartet Project”. The Project maintains the traditional flamenco interplay between singer, guitar and dance but uses unique instrumentation and original composition to find new exponents of the form. Look forward to sharing the work with a great line up of artists including: violinist Steve Gibons, guitarist Marija Temo, percussionist/dancer Jose Moreno and dancer Wendy Clinard. Temo will offer privates in Guitar technique, cante, and dance accompaniment as well as coach your choreography in how to work with cante and guitar communication and interpretation
You will have the opportunity, if you like, to present what you are working on in your private study at the Aug. 8th performance.
Coaching with Temo and Clinard together, Aug. 5-8, 2016
Receive feedback on how to interact and interpret your choreography, cante, and guitar skills when working with dancers and musicians.
Fee: total $130 for both teachers or $65 per teacher
You will have the opportunity if you like, to present what you are working on in your private study at the Aug. 8th performance.

Guitarists, singers and dancers are encouraged to bring their remates, respiros, marking steps, salidas, estribillos and escovillas to class to deepen their understanding of the Tangos structure. Students will have a chance to work with each other live in the class or attend as an observer only to glean a better understanding of how the parts (singing, dance and guitar) make a whole in flamenco. Students will have the opportunity to share their workshop studies in the Aug 8th performance.
Marija Temo will be performing at the Chicago Flamenco Festival, Sat, Feb. 20 at 7:30p.m., presenting her composition, Farruca, with the Clinard Flamenco Quartet and collaborators (Wendy Clinard, contemporary flamenco dancer, Steve Gibons, Gypsy jazz violinist, Alex Wing, bassist, and Marija Temo, flamenco guitarist)opening for RAQUEL HEREDIA “LA REPOMPILLA”.
