 Outline of Marija Temo flamenco events:

Location: Washington Hilton, Dupont Circle, 1919 Connecticut Ave, NW, Washington, D.C., 202- 483-3000

4:00-5:00p.m. Flamenco Amazement Workshop (Experience Flamenco Dance, Guitar, and Song in one workshop with Marija Temo for all levels of any dance, guitar, or singing style!

5:30-7:00p.m.  Special Flamenco Communication Workshop for all levels of flamenco guitarists, singers, and dancers in the MD/DC/VA community (All attendees of the Bachata Festival are welcome to observe). Palo: Tangos and Bulerias (Additional fee not included in festival price.)

8:00p.m. Flamenco Performance by Marija Temo opening the Saturday night bachata dance concerts. Performing only one number but it will be quite a fun innovation special for the festival.  She is performing only one number but it will be quite an innovation, special for the festival.

10:00p.m. Flamenco Jam (Juerga) All attendees of the Bachata festival and flamenco aficionados, teachers,  performers, and students are encouraged to attend the Flamenco jam!  (We will have a special flamenco room and a floor built for us. )

Fees:
$70 for Special Flamenco Communication Workshop @ 5:30- 7:00p.m for all levels of flamenco guitarists, singers, and dancers in the MD/DC/VA community (Check made out to Marija Temo, cash, and or paypal to include service fee).

$40 festival pass to attend the flamenco juerga (fiesta/jam), all festival concerts, all workshops and and late night salsa and bachata party rooms starting at 4:00p.m. till the late hours of the night. (Additional fee for Special Flamenco Communication Workshop not included in the festival pass.)

Go to the Monroe room at the Hilton when you arrive.  All questions regarding where each flamenco event will be held will be posted or answered there.

• Best to lable your name on your guitar. A secure place that you can leave your guitar and attend the festival events is currently being arranged.
• You will have to go through registration when you arrive, be sure to come early so you can attend events on time.  Best to park on side streets and walk over to the Hilton or take the metro.

Why attend?  It is a chance to support flamenco being represented at a major Latin Festival.

What can you gain?  Exposure to promote yourself to the entire festival as a performer, teacher, or any business Spanish/Flamenco related or otherwise. Professional Filming and photography will be taken at the events.

How can you help?

• Flamenco Performers , teachers, students, and flamenco aficionados: By attending the flamenco events, especially the flamenco jam (juerga), we show that there is a flamenco community that can be represented at a major festival with interest for performances and workshops.  The more that attend, the better our chances of making this grow.  All flamenco teachers and their students, and any flamenco aficionado spectators are encouraged to attend.  Business cards and flyers are welcome, but the best exposure is to dance, sing, and play together.  We are given a space to juerga and promote to all festival participants.  Let’s get them to the flamenco room and most of all let’s have a good time jamming together.  Please contact Marija Temo for any questions you might have and include your phone number for faster communication.

Flamenco teachers and main flamenco performers in the MD/DC/VA area, please contact Marija Temo if you will be attending, for any questions, and for special information regarding the flamenco juerga.

• Sponsorship: Any person or organization will be promoted by wanting to associate themselves with Marija Temo’s flamenco events, especially the flamenco juerga. The sponsor only needs to offer a gift for the raffle where they will be promoted to the entire festival participants (anywhere from 1000- 5000 people) prior to Marija Temo’s solo performance on Sat. Aug. 8, 8:00p.m. No funds are needed from the Sponsor to pay Marija Temo or any items for her events.  The more the Sponsor offers at the raffle, the more heavily promoted they will be throughout the festival.
